SESSION FOUR - A great consolidation session

Awesome job last night Emma.
It was great to consolidate the routine without any gaps in it.

You brought your A game!

Here is the link to 2 videos of you and Carlos.
Key learnings from today's session were:
  1. When you "mark" the choreo it always has to be at 100% commitment so that it comes together well when you do it with the tricks i there too.
  2. Remove 1 turn from the intro before the mambo step. It will make the mambo step looks stronger.
  3. The move straight after the 2 hands on Carlos' chest:
Be more conscious of your arm line. It tends to drop to a 45 degree angle. You show much more control and precision if you make it parallel to the floor.
  4. The move after the swivels where you roll out and end up looking at the ground/foot.
Try not to look down until that last beat. When you roll out your head should be level to the ceiling/floor. And when you reach your posing position arms your back and look over your shoulder, rather than down at your floor (it makes you hunch over).
  5. When you do flares that you don't want to travel out too much, turn on top of the pointed foot and then flare inwards rather than lunging out for the flare.
  6. Really focus on engaging with your partner on the moments of connection.
  7. The Cartwheel.
The bending is the preparation for an aggressive take off. - up and back.
You need to really kick strong and with dead straight legs.
The order of the landing is: Spot the landing spot, then land the first leg, lift the torso, then land the second leg. The more spread your legs are the more control you will get on the landing.
  8. For the round lift after the cartwheel present to the front for a second and then spot over your right shoulder for you can get your line ready for the turns before actually landing.
  9. Travel turns at the end:
Position the hand in a cup and hold that position in frame throughout the turns
Take smaller steps during the turns.
Use the free arm to hold the frame tight (arms at lower chest level)
  10. We will lock n some arm styling for variety in the upcoming session.
For the next session we will review for 15 mins with music, then get the "round-the-world" trick in there, and build some more dancing sequences. By the next session we will be at 1 min of the choreo. Yay!

I love the choreo. You guys are going to SMASH IT !!!

Hugs for now.
Elli
